Membership Policies and Requirements for Membership Holds

Photo ID Required
Berkshire West requires photographic identification for the safety and concern of our members and guests. Failure to provide identification will deny access to the club.

Medical History Form
All members are required to complete a medical history questionnaire before using our facilities. Results may require approval from a physician.

Business Hold
This is available for members who have to travel as a part of their job. A written request from your employer on company letterhead, and a business card, or other proof of employment with your business, must be submitted to the Membership Department, at the first of the month prior to departure. There is a one-month minimum period that your membership may be put on hold, and a maximum of one year. Your membership will be reactivated by providing written notification to the Membership Department from your employer on company letterhead, along with the appropriate fee payment at the time of reactivation. Please note: Business Hold will be allowed no more than four times per year.

Medical Hold
A written doctor's note must be submitted to the Membership Department a month in advance. No retroactive leave will be granted. All financial obligations must be paid in full prior to Medical Hold. There is a one-month minimum period that your membership may be put on hold, and a maximum of one year. Your membership will be reactivated by providing written notification to the Membership Department from your doctor, along with the appropriate fee payment at the time of reactivation.

Membership Cancellations
  • EFT* - Electronic Funds Transfer Payment Authorization - I understand and agree that Berkshire West will automatically renew this authorization month-to-month at the increased rate (if applicable) until I give the Berkshire West Membership Department written notice of cancellation at least forty-five days prior to the first of the month that the cancellation will be effective. I understand that I may terminate my membership by giving the Berkshire West Membership Department forty-five days written notice. This notice must be given on the appropriate cancellation form available by calling or e-mailing our Membership Department.
  • Annual Renewal* - Upon receiving a renewal bill, I understand that I must cancel the membership with the Membership Department, if I choose not to renew.
  • Charge Privileges - Upon cancellation, there are no charge privileges allowed on in-house accounts unless a credit card has been previously provided for automatic billing of these charges.
Liability Waiver
The club shall not be held responsible or liable by any member or guest for loss of property for any reason. As a member of Berkshire West, I assume that there is risk involved in leaving personal property either unattended or in an unlocked locker. 

Member Code of Conduct
Discriminatory comments and comments of a sexual nature will not be tolerated at Berkshire West Athletic Club and are cause for immediate termination of membership privileges. 



*One year and six-month commitments are subject to early cancellation fees.
